The David Enthoven Foundation
A global peer support network for artists and crew in recovery, inspired by David’s legacy.
"David taught me to be proud, to have courage, to love myself, to try to do the right thing, to show kindness and to own the pieces of myself that I didn’t want to accept."
–Michael

Chris Difford
Founder
Chris Difford is a Grammy-nominated and double Ivor Novello Award-winning lyricist whose sharp observations and distinctive storytelling have shaped some of the most enduring British songs of the past four decades. As co-founder of Squeeze, he has co-written classics including Up The Junction, Cool for Cats, Labelled With Love, Tempted and many more, turning everyday life into vivid, beautifully crafted songs loved across generations.
Alongside longtime collaborator Glenn Tilbrook, Chris helped guide Squeeze through a hugely successful return with the acclaimed albums Cradle to the Grave (2015) and The Knowledge (2017), followed by extensive international touring.
Away from the stage, Chris has hosted songwriting retreats and workshops for more than 33 years, working in settings ranging from prisons and rehabilitation centres to the renowned Pennard House in Somerset. Many of these projects have been supported by Help Musicians and BMI. Widely regarded as one of the UK’s most respected lyricists, he has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists across the music industry.
His acclaimed autobiography, Some Fantastic Place, was released in 2017 and received widespread praise for its honesty, humour and moving account of recovery, life on the road and his journey with Squeeze. The book later inspired his sold-out two-week run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe — “a stand-up show with a bit of sit-down.”
Chris is an ambassador for Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter, causes close to his heart. He is also co-founder of the David Enthoven Foundation, established in honour of the late music manager and mentor who played an important role throughout his life and career.
He continues to support recovery communities through his work with Broadway Lodge in the West Country, where he regularly performs for residents and supporters.
2026 sees Chris returning to the road for further touring across the US and UK, including appearances alongside Billy Bragg, Christopher Cross and Elvis Costello, as well as dates connected to Trixie’s — a collection of songs originally written in 1974, produced by Owen Biddle and released through BMG to strong critical response.
With 2027 already shaping up to be another busy year, Chris Difford remains what he has always been: one of Britain’s finest lyricists, still happiest in a dressing room chair, writing songs for audiences who continue to treasure them.

Lynette Jackson-Edwards
Trustee
Lynette began working alongside the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1994, securing brand agreements on its behalf. Two years later, Sir Elton John personally invited her to join the board, and she served as a Trustee for seventeen years. During that time she sat as part of the quorum responsible for distributing some £40 million in grant funding across several continents — decisions about which programmes were funded, in those countries, and to what end.
She has also raised a million pounds in a single night for UNICEF and Give It Sum, Robbie Williams' Foundation, for the End Child Exploitation campaign, and spent two happy years consulting for Dogs Trust.
She did all of this while running her own businesses in film and music, working for Universal Pictures on product placement and back-end marketing, and negotiating commercial agreements between artists — Robbie Williams and Sir Elton John — and blue-chip companies. For every music agreement she negotiated, she also managed sixteen years of global touring, with her production team on the road to ensure that branding, intellectual property, marketing, promotions, merchandising, and ticketing rights were honoured in full. The Foundation had the benefit of that judgement throughout.
She brings to the Board of The David Enthoven Foundation extensive experience in charitable governance and financial oversight, together with a practical understanding of how commercial partnerships are structured.
